Dentist in Okanogan, WA

Robeck Dental treats patients from Okanogan at our office on Haussler Road in Omak, six miles north of town. Dr. Troy Robeck, DDS, owns the practice and grew up in Okanogan County. Cleanings, crowns, implants, and Invisalign all happen in the same building, so most patients finish treatment without a referral out of the valley.

The drive takes about 12 minutes. Two of our dental assistants, Mandy and Cassidy, graduated from Okanogan High School, and our team has looked after families in this valley since 1965. Call (509) 826-4050 to book a visit.

How far is Robeck Dental from Okanogan?

The office sits six miles from downtown Okanogan at 739 Haussler Road, and the drive north takes roughly 12 minutes. Parking is free and on site, and we open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, closing Friday through Sunday. Many Okanogan patients book a morning appointment and are back at work before lunch.

That short distance matters more than it sounds. A crown at most offices means two separate trips a couple of weeks apart, plus the temporary crown in between. A single visit crown means one trip and one morning.

We see Okanogan families across three generations. The practice has run in this valley since 1965, so a fair number of our patients first walked in as kids and now bring their own children through the same door.

What can you get done in a single trip?

Most of it, and that is the point of the drive. Robeck Dental runs a CEREC milling unit that designs and cements a ceramic crown in one appointment, with no temporary and no return visit. Dr. Robeck also places dental implants and restores them here in Omak, which keeps the full process local instead of sending you to Wenatchee or Spokane.

Here is what stays in house at our Omak office:

Three things we send elsewhere, and you should know before you drive. We provide Invisalign but refer traditional braces to an orthodontist. We treat root canals on front teeth and bicuspids, and refer molar root canals to an endodontist. Dr. Robeck places most implants himself, though a small number of complex cases go to a surgeon.

We tell you which category you fall into at the exam, not after you have made the trip twice.

The people who will treat you

Dr. Troy Robeck, DDS, treats every patient at the practice. He graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 2010 with honors. He was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. He also received the Washington State Dental Association Award for Student Leadership. He bought the practice outright in 2022.

The team behind him has stayed put. Amy has assisted here since 1990. That is over three decades in the same office. Beth and Megan both hold dental hygiene degrees from Eastern Washington University. Amanda C. joined in 2010.

For Okanogan patients specifically, there is a decent chance you already know someone here. Mandy manages sterilization and trained in orthodontic assisting after ten years as a CNA. Cassidy is our lead orthodontic assistant. Both graduated from Okanogan High School.

Do you take my insurance?

Robeck Dental is in network with Delta Dental. With other plans we are out of network, but we accept assignment of benefits and submit your claims for you. Most patients are still covered. One thing to settle before you drive over. We do not take Apple Health or state Medicaid, because Washington sends those plans to state dental clinics rather than private offices.

If Apple Health is your coverage, your dental benefit is assigned elsewhere and we cannot bill it. Check with your plan before you book. We would rather tell you now than have you make the trip for nothing.

Pay up front and take 5 percent off

Cash or check at the time of service earns a 5 percent discount. There is no form to fill out and nothing to apply for. Diana, our financial coordinator, goes over the number with you before treatment starts.

Financing through Cherry

Cherry offers payment plans you can apply for online in a few minutes, before your appointment if you prefer. Diana will walk you through it if you would rather do it here. We accept CareCredit as well.

You get the cost before treatment, not after

We go over what your plan covers and what you owe before any work begins. Payment is due at the time of service. Nobody should find out what a crown costs from a bill that arrives three weeks later.

Why Okanogan patients drive to Omak

Plenty of Okanogan patients are perfectly happy with where they go now. The ones who make the short trip north usually want a specific piece of equipment or a service they cannot get closer to home.

A crown finished in one appointment

CEREC designs and mills your crown while you sit in the chair. Most patients spend a single morning on a restoration that normally takes two visits and two weeks. You also skip the temporary crown, which tends to come loose at the worst time.

3D imaging for implants, TMJ, and airway

Our CBCT scanner takes a three dimensional image of your jaw. It shows bone depth and where the nerves sit. Dr. Robeck uses it to plan implants, check TMJ problems, and look at airway concerns tied to sleep apnea. Few offices this far into rural Washington have one.

Implants placed and restored under one roof

In most cases Dr. Robeck does the placement, the abutment, and the final crown himself. He received the Implant Student of the Year award at the University of Washington and belongs to the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. You do not go to one office for surgery and another for the tooth.

Nearly 20 years of Invisalign cases

We have offered Invisalign since 2005. Our patients have ranged from age 14 to 70. Treatment starts with a digital scan, not a tray of goop. Cassidy, our lead orthodontic assistant, trained at the Central Washington School of Dental Assisting.

Se habla espanol

Dr. Robeck speaks Spanish. You do not need to bring someone along to interpret, and you do not need to wait for a scheduled interpreter slot to be seen.

Sedation for people who dread dental work

We offer oral sedation and nitrous oxide. Plenty of our patients put off care for years before coming in. That is common enough that we plan for it.

A practice that has been here since 1965

Dr. Jerry Grillo opened this practice in Tonasket in 1965. It moved to Omak in 1972, first across from the library, then to the Shellrock Professional Building near Mid Valley Hospital. Dr. Greg Grillo joined his father in 1999 after four years as a Navy dental officer. Dr. Jerry retired in 2010 after 48 years treating Okanogan County patients.

Dr. Troy Robeck joined in 2012 and moved his family back to the county he grew up in. He took over the practice in 2022 when Dr. Greg Grillo retired from clinical work.

That history is worth knowing for one practical reason. A dentist who grew up in Okanogan County, went to school here, and moved his family back is not passing through on the way to somewhere bigger. Rural practices change hands often. This one has changed hands twice in 60 years.

The drive, the parking, and what to expect

Take Highway 215 north out of Okanogan and you reach Haussler Road in about 12 minutes. The office has its own lot, so no street parking and no meters.

Bring your insurance card, a list of any medications you take, and the name of your last dentist. If you are nervous, say so when you call. We would rather know before you arrive than work it out halfway through.

Booking an appointment from Okanogan

Call (509) 826-4050 or use the contact form on our website to request a time. New patients from Okanogan are welcome. Our office is at 739 Haussler Road, Omak, WA 98841, open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Mention when you book that you are driving from Okanogan and want to keep things to one trip. We will do what we can to group treatment into a single appointment so you are not making the drive again next week for something we could have finished the same morning.

If you are switching from another office, we can request your records for you. Just give us the name of the practice when you call. Most offices send X-rays over within a few days.

Questions Okanogan patients ask

Is Robeck Dental accepting new patients from Okanogan?

Yes, and we take new patients from across the valley. Call (509) 826-4050 to schedule. A first visit usually covers an exam, digital X-rays, and a cleaning. If you have records or recent X-rays from a previous dentist, ask that office to forward them before your appointment so you are not paying twice for the same images.

Usually, yes. Our CEREC unit designs and mills the crown during your visit. A crown that normally runs two appointments fits into one morning. Plan for about two hours in the chair. Some cases still need a lab made crown. Dr. Robeck will tell you at the exam if yours is one of them.

Robeck Dental does not take Apple Health or Medicaid. Washington assigns those plans to designated clinics rather than private practices, so the benefit is not usable here. Contact your plan to find where yours is assigned. We are in network with Delta Dental and out of network with other plans, though we submit claims for you either way. Check your card before you assume.

Call (509) 826-4050 during office hours, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Tell whoever answers what happened and we will find room that day wherever we can. Six miles is a short drive for a broken tooth or an abscess, and nobody should sit through a weekend in pain waiting for Monday.

Highway 215 between Okanogan and Omak is a main route and gets plowed early. In most winter weather the drive still runs close to 12 to 15 minutes. If the roads are bad enough that you would rather not travel, call (509) 826-4050 and we will move your appointment. We would rather reschedule than have anyone drive on ice for a cleaning.

We treat root canals on front teeth and bicuspids. Molar root canals go to an endodontist, because those cases are more complex and better handled by someone who does them all day. If you are calling from Okanogan with a painful back tooth, say so on the phone and we will tell you straight away whether the appointment is with us or with a specialist.
